• Both are magnetic hoops with a metal base frame.
• Both attach to the embroidery machine via brand-specific mounts on the base frame.
• Both have been tested for magnetic strength and are very strong.
Differences:
• MaggieFrame’s bottom frame is covered with a soft flocking layer to reduce fabric slippage and improve hand feel.
• DIME uses a one-piece upper frame (great for regular fabrics). MaggieFrame uses multiple individual magnets, so you can avoid zippers/seams or uneven areas by placing magnets accordingly. If placement isn’t ideal, just adjust the single magnet block—no need to remove and re-hoop the entire frame.
Q2. For designs larger than the hoop area, which is easier to manage—MaggieFrame Magnetic Hoop or a regular hoop?
A3: MaggieFrame is easier. You can reposition the fabric by moving individual magnets rather than removing the hoop to re-hoop. With a regular hoop, removing it from the machine can shift the carriage and risk losing your alignment.

Q4. If I bought a large magnetic hoop, do I still need a small magnetic hoop?
A5: Generally, hoop size should match design size. Large designs need large hoops. Using a large hoop for small designs can make it harder to keep the center taut (edges are far from the hoop), which may cause distortion. We recommend adding a small magnetic hoop as well. Having multiple hoops also gives you more magnets, making dense, secure clamping easier.
