FAQs

Help! My needle hit the edge of the frame (a needle strike). Why did this happen and how can I prevent it?

In most cases, a needle strike occurs when the selected hoop size in the CBL embroidery machine software is larger than the actual embroidery magnetic hoop’s field or the design area was digitized too large. Always select the correct or smaller hoop size, such as your 12.4″ × 15.6″ (315 × 395 mm) magnetic frame, and perform a trace test before running the design.

Is this magnetic hoop heavier than the standard hoop? Will the extra weight add strain to my machine's motor?

The MaggieFrame embroidery magnetic hoop is slightly heavier than traditional tubular hoops because of its strong magnets. However, it has been engineered within the CBL embroidery machine’s safe weight capacity. This ensures your embroidery workflow remains smooth, without adding any strain to the motor or affecting stitching performance.

I feel like the magnetic frame is shifting slightly on the machine during high-stitch-count designs. How can I fix this?

This is very uncommon as the magnetic force of the MaggieFrame hoop is strong. Check that your CBL machine brackets are fully tightened and verify you are using proper stabilizer backing. For dense or high-speed embroidery on slippery materials, adding a thin non-slip layer under the fabric can improve grip and prevent minor shifting during stitching.

Is the magnetic strength of this frame strong enough to hold steady on thick materials like heavy jackets or backpacks?

Yes. The MaggieFrame embroidery magnetic hoop is built with industrial-grade magnets, strong enough to handle thick fabrics such as work jackets, leather, denim, or quilted items. It maintains firm contact with multi-layered materials during embroidery on CBL 1201 or 1501 machines, ensuring stability, precision, and consistent results.
