Will the strong magnets affect my ETM embroidery machine's electronic components?
No. MaggieFrame magnetic hoops are 100% safe for ETM embroidery machines. The magnets are designed to hold fabric securely without emitting fields that interfere with computer boards or sensors. Just avoid placing the hoop directly next to the machine's control panel or main circuit for extended periods, and you can use it with complete confidence.
How should I tighten a slightly loose bracket on my MaggieFrame magnetic hoop?
The brackets should be hand-tightened first. If they still feel loose, gently use a screwdriver to tighten the screws connecting the bracket to the frame—not the embroidery machine—until snug. Avoid over-tightening, which could strip threads. A properly secured bracket ensures stable embroidery and prevents frame vibration during operation.
Can I float small items like ties or socks using this 8.7″ × 5″ (220 × 130 mm) frame?
Yes. This hoop size is perfect for floating small projects on ETM embroidery machines. You can hoop a sticky stabilizer or backing fabric, then place your small item—like a tie or sock—on top of it. This technique prevents fabric distortion and avoids unnecessary stretching, allowing your MaggieFrame to maintain hooping consistency even on delicate fabrics.
Should the stabilizer go inside the frame or be floated under it when using MaggieFrame hoops?
For most fabrics, the stabilizer is best placed inside the magnetic embroidery hoop with the fabric, sandwiching them together evenly. However, when working with thick or hard-to-hoop items, you can use the floating method—placing the stabilizer only beneath the bottom ring. Both methods work well depending on your fabric thickness and embroidery design needs.
