FAQs

After switching to this magnetic frame, what reduction in our defect rate (caused by hooping errors) can we expect?

Users of the MaggieFrame magnetic embroidery hoop for WAF machines report a notable decrease in defect rates. The even magnetic pressure minimizes fabric shifting, hoop burns, and tension inconsistencies common with standard frames. As a result, fewer garments are wasted, operator rework is reduced, and production efficiency improves—leading to measurable cost savings per embroidery run.

Although the initial investment for a magnetic frame is higher, what is its long-term Return on Investment (ROI)?

While the MaggieFrame magnetic hoop costs more upfront, it offers rapid ROI through increased productivity and reduced material loss. Each hooping session saves valuable setup time, and fewer errors mean less wasted fabric. For WAF multi-head embroidery setups, these factors combine to deliver ongoing efficiency and profitability, allowing the equipment to pay for itself faster with consistent usage.

Help! My needle hit the edge of the frame (a needle strike). Why did this happen and how can I prevent it?

This usually occurs when the selected hoop size in your WAF machine software is larger than the actual sewing field of the 6.9″ × 6.9″ (175 × 175 mm) MaggieFrame magnetic embroidery hoop. It can also result from a digitized design exceeding the embroidery area. Always select the correct or smaller hoop size and run a trace test before stitching to ensure safe needle clearance.

The magnetic frame has attracted broken needle tips or metal dust. What is the safest way to clean this debris off?

To safely remove metal debris from the MaggieFrame magnetic embroidery hoop, use a piece of duct tape or sticky putty to lift metal particles gently. Avoid using your hands to wipe the magnet surface, as this could cause injury. Periodic cleaning keeps the magnetic contact strong and prevents metal buildup that could affect the WAF machine’s performance during embroidery.
