FAQs

Are there any situations where a traditional screw hoop is better than this magnetic frame?

While the MaggieFrame magnetic embroidery hoop works for most fabrics and garments, certain thick or rigid items—such as heavy leather patches or boot tongues—may still benefit from a traditional screw hoop for extra tension. However, for 95% of embroidery, apparel, and bag projects on Bolton Tools CTF1501 or CTF1502 machines, the magnetic embroidery frame provides faster setup and a smoother finish.

Can the strong magnets in MaggieFrame damage nearby electronic devices or USB drives?

It’s recommended to keep strong magnets away from sensitive electronics and magnetic storage media, such as credit cards, USB drives, or external hard drives. To avoid data loss or interference, maintain a safe distance of around 50 cm between your MaggieFrame magnetic hoop and those devices when hooping or removing embroidery materials.

How well does this magnetic frame grip slippery or delicate fabrics like silk or nylon?

The MaggieFrame magnetic embroidery hoop distributes pressure evenly, helping to secure slippery fabrics more effectively than traditional hoops that may leave marks or cause slippage. For best results, use a stabilizer under the fabric as usual. When used with Bolton Tools embroidery machines, this magnetic frame ensures consistent tension without damaging fine materials.

How can I choose the right magnetic hoop size for my first embroidery setup?

If you’re starting your embroidery business, consider selecting a medium-size magnetic embroidery hoop that covers versatile needs such as left-chest logos or small patches. It provides balanced coverage and reduces hooping time. The MaggieFrame 12.4″ × 15.6″ (315 × 395 mm) model for Bolton Tools machines is an excellent choice for expanding production without frequent hoop changes.
