FAQs

Can I use this 12.4″ × 15.6″ (315 × 395 mm) magnetic hoop to embroider small items like baby onesies or pet bandanas?

This hoop is relatively large, so it might be too big for very small garments such as baby onesies or pet accessories. However, you can still float small materials on stabilizer within this MaggieFrame magnetic embroidery frame for YESHI machines. This method lets you position the fabric securely without hooping it directly, maintaining clean, accurate embroidery.

Are there situations where a traditional screw hoop is better than a magnetic embroidery frame?

While MaggieFrame magnetic hoops make hooping faster and safer for most embroidery, some users prefer a traditional hoop when working with extremely thick or rigid materials like heavy canvas or boot tongues. In these rare cases, the screw hoop can provide higher tension. For everyday apparel, bags, or uniforms, the magnetic design offers better efficiency and fabric protection.

Does the listed size refer to the inner dimension or the actual embroidery field?

The size shown—12.4″ × 15.6″ (315 × 395 mm)—refers to the inner dimension of the MaggieFrame magnetic hoop for YESHI embroidery machines. The actual embroidery area is slightly smaller, about 0.6″ (15 mm) less on each side. Always leave a small margin inside this working area to ensure optimal stitching and to prevent edge distortion.

Are there any pro tips for using this magnetic frame with thin or stretchy fabrics like silk or Spandex?

Yes. When using the MaggieFrame embroidery magnetic hoop with thin or stretch fabrics, do not pull the material tight. Instead, lay the stabilizer and fabric smoothly over the lower frame and let the magnets close naturally. This gentle hold prevents over-stretching or puckering, ensuring crisp, consistent stitch quality on materials such as silk or Spandex.
